
Our Story
Canterbury Fiji Social Services Trust is a non-profit organization who have been providing various programmes and services to the community since becoming incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 on 29th March 1996
To develop and shape culturally vibrant education and social wellbeing programmes for all Fiji people and other ethnic group in the wider Canterbury Areas.
Our Goal
To provide life long opportunities for all Pacific Island members and continue to recognise other ethnic groups who have been participating in our Programmes. Our priority is to ensure that we are culturally sensitive and inclusive in all the service provided


Our Aim
To reflect in all aspects of our work and the programmes we run the principle that children, young people and clients must at no time be put at risk, their rights are to be upheld and their welfare promoted. This is the first consideration in any planning for any aspect of our operation
To maintain a high quality environment is our priority in order for our clients to take ownership of the programme, providing them with a sense of belonging and freedom to express themselves
To provide the experience of mixing children/clients from different backgrounds, culture and disabilities which can only facilitate with an increased awareness
To provide quality programmes for Pacific Island and other ethnic groups from low income families with the aim of providing socialisation, cultural awareness, life skills, self-motivation, confidence building/self-esteem in a happy and safe environment
Our Team
Programme Staff – We have a number of part time and casual staff that provide support for programmes and events
Volunteers – We have a number of volunteers that assist us for various projects or help support programmes and events
